Jessica Tuomela has competed in the visually impaired category since 2016 and became Duathlon World Champion a year later in Penticton, USA.
The Canadian won her first Para Triathlon World Cup in 2018 in Magog, and followed it up with a home win at the World Triathlon Para Series race in Edmonton just two weeks later. Jessica won the 2019 Tokyo Paratriathlon World Cup, part of the Test Event for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, and has previously competed in the Sydney 2000, Beijing 2008 and Athens 2004 Games, representing Canada in para swimming.
