Helen has competed at three different Olympic Games. She has achieved more ITU World Triathlon Series podium finishes than any other British woman and has won the ITU world title twice. She secured Rio 2016 Olympic selection with a dramatic win over ITU World Champion, Gwen Jorgensen, at the ITU World Triathlon Series event in the Gold Coast. She reached the podium at two further ITU World Series occasions in 2016, finishing third in Abu Dhabi and Stockholm.
In the London 2012 Olympics, Helen achieved what was the highest performance ever by a British woman at an Olympic Games when she finished 5th. She was in medal contention up to the final stages when the four other athletes in the lead group began to pull away.
Helen was the ITU World Champion in 2011, having won the title in Beijing, as well as also having won the title in 2008 on a cold, rainy day in Vancouver. She won the 2008 title as Helen Tucker before her marriage to fellow British Triathlon Olympian and coach, Marc Jenkins.
Helen was the British Junior Champion of the year 2003 and the Elite Champion of the year 2006, after having been the elite silver medalist of the year 2005. Helen also participated in several prestigious non ITU events, in 2009 for instance she won the London Triathlon, which she had already attended in the years 2003, 2004, and 2005, placing 7th, 5th, and 5th respectively.
