Javier Gomez Noya (ESP) is no stranger to the top of the podium, but the one race he had yet to win was the ITU World Triathlon Stockholm. That all changed on July 23rd, 2015 as the Spaniard finally captured the gold medal and was able to proudly add WTS Stockholm to the long list of victories.

2015 ITU World Triathlon Stockholm - Elite Women's Highlights

Sarah True defended her title as the American dominated the run leg to bring home a back-to-back title in the 2015 ITU World Triathlon Stockholm event. Reclaiming the crown after winning her first WTS title in Stockholm last year, True picked up her first WTS victory of the season with a time of 2:01:05.

2015 ITU Hamburg World Triathlon - Femmina ITA

Proving that she is also capable at dominating in a sprint, USA’s Gwen Jorgensen claimed victory at the 2015 ITU World Triathlon Hamburg. With Great Britain’s Vicky Holland giving Jorgensen some pressured competition up until the last 500 metres, the 11-time WTS consecutive winner showcased her speed and pure talent by breaking away on the blue carpet to ultimately take home yet another gold.

No stranger to the podium, but a stranger to the top, France’s Vincent Luis produced a remarkable run at World Triathlon Hamburg to claim his first ever World Triathlon Series title over four-time World Champion Javier Gomez Noya (ESP). Engaged in a tight battle with Gomez the entire race, Luis launched past the No.1 world ranked Spaniard in the last 300 metres, becoming the first French athlete to ever win a WTS title.

In the seventh edition of the ITU Triathlon Mixed Relay World Championships, France scored its first World Championship title in a down to the line fight. After Great Britain edged out the team in 2014, this year it was France’s turn to put themselves on the top of the competition.
