Edmonton leaves female coaching legacy

The 2014 TransCanada World Triathlon Grand Final Edmonton in partnership with the Edmonton Triathlon Academy and ITU Development are pleased to announce an exciting coaching development opportunity for female coaches from the developing nations.
The ITU Grand Final Breakfast, presented by the ITU Women’s Committee at the World Championship race in September, was successful in raising sufficient funds to support a Women in Coaching Mentorship.
This opportunity is located in Edmonton, and will provide a female coach with the chance to further their coaching skills by working with an internationally accredited coach in a world-class sports facilities. The funded Mentorship will take place during the early months of 2015.
Edmonton is known as Canada’s “Triathlon City” having hosted more ITU events than any other city in Canada. Edmonton also has a reputation for delivering events at an elevated level for ITU. The Edmonton Triathlon Academy was founded in 2010, as a legacy of 10 years of hosting ITU events, and works under the vision: A Winning Environment – An Opportunity to Succeed
HOW TO APPLY?
Send the following information to kccoaching@gmail.com and pay special attention to the following criteria:
1. Provide two professional references - one reference from the National Federation. (please provide reference contact details)
2. National Coaching Accreditation or equivalent (documentation proof required)
3. A working knowledge of English (since Mentor only speaks English)
4. Write a 300/400-word essay which outlines: personal goals in coaching triathlon; how this experience will enhance coaching skills; and why you think you are suitable candidate.

Please submit application by Nov. 21 along with two references.
Successful candidate will be notified by December 1, 2014

The successful candidate will be required to present a police check (Canadian Coaching requirement).
