Bio

Did my first ‘try-athlon’ in 1989 in Omagh, Co-Tyrone and was instantly hooked! Prior to that I had raced cross-country a few times at schools level. Made the Ulster triathlon squad in 1991 and won a few races in NI and in Scotland around that time. The next 3-4 years were hampered by repeated illness/injury, however, by 1996 I was starting to get some good results again. Won my first national title in 1998 and again in 1999 (Cushendunn, Co-Antrim).
