Bio

Kelly has always had a love and appreciation for competition and endurance sports.  At the age of 6, Kelly began swimming competitively and raced through high school.  At that time she put swimming on hold to pursue her other two passions: lacrosse and running.  In college she ran on both the Middlebury Cross Country and Track teams.  After college she continued racing with the Greater Boston Track Club, competing in distances from 5K to marathons.  With her relocation to San Francisco, Kelly purchased her first road bike and entered her first triathlon in 2004.  She has fallen in love with triathlon and has found her passion.  When Kelly and her husband moved to the peninsula in 2005, she joined a local triathlon team, Team Sheeper.  Under the coaching and guidance of Tim Sheeper, a legend in the sport of triathlon, Kelly began a rigorous training regimen and continues to gain experience and knowledge about multisport training and racing.  2005 was Kelly’s first full season of triathlon and after several age group wins and a successful race at the Age Group World Championship in Honolulu, she decided to apply for her elite license.  Kelly was invited to join the Bay Area’s ALCiS triathlon team for the 2006 season.  She began her first professional season with two impressive finishes at Oceanside 70.3 Half Ironman and Wildflower long course.  She looks forward to the 2006 season, participating in the Tri-California series and other Olympic and 70.3 races throughout the season.
